What would make 2025 your best year ever for managing the finances of your organization?

A client recently told us that it would be a most memorable year for her if she could (edited for clarity):

• Implement a bookkeeping system for her organization using QuickBooks Online that requires far less time and effort than the Excel system they are using now
• Produce meaningful and timely financial reports for board members, management, external accountants, and others
• Improve how her organization handles credit card purchases as activity levels ramp up
• Lead a budget process that engages everyone in the organization and produces a realistic projection of income, expenses and cash flows
• Cultivate an organization-wide culture of financial responsibility
• Put a financial management system in place that can smoothly transition to the next stewards of the organization.

Wow! What an amazing vision. And what an amazing organization if all these things came to be.

Nonprofit Budgeting Workshop Series

Thanks to everyone who responded to our workshop survey last fall. The number one area of interest was (drum roll, please) – Budgeting!

As a result, in March we plan to present a 3-part workshop series on Nonprofit Budgeting.

The workshops will cover how to do a master operating budget, how to use an Excel budget template to allocate costs to functional areas, and how to create a grant budget.

Redesigned Smart Nonprofit Money

We are reconfiguring Smart Nonprofit Money, our online community. Initially we are unveiling SNM Free which includes
